In a recent web radio show hosted by Square Enix, Tetsuya Nomura appeared as a guest, where he briefly answered a question regarding a game that everyone has been waiting to hear about—Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
Towards the end of the show, asked Nomura a number of questions from fans. One of the questions was about Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which Square Enix has been quiet about for over a year. Here’s the question and Nomura’s reply:
Q: I’ve been excitedly waiting for any news regarding Final Fantasy Versus XIII. When will we be hearing more?
Nomura: Any information about Versus is very… sensitive, even within the company. We’ve been quiet about it for the past year, but the day of being able to remove its information ban has already been decided, and we’re currently preparing for that day. When that time comes, we’ll also reveal our reason for the delay of any form of announcement.

Before-sleeping Rant!
I’ve been contemplating the direction of my interests recently while playing video games (FFXII-2) and I realized something. The last FF I played was FFXIII, whise main character I loved with all my heart despite having pink hair (I dislike pink for some weird reason gomen) coz she is just so fucking badass. Lightning is just so cool ;A; Then when the parts about the Eidolons came out, I started trying to get the etymologies and stuff. And Lightning’s summon was Odin, who was a horse! HAHAHA looking back now I can’t help but laugh at this XD
And this was the reason I researched on Norse mythology. It really piqued my interest at some point, and started looking into Thor and other gods and stuff. I just really liked Thor’s concept then, I guess? Then I find out about Sleipnir, and Loki (whom I never actually believed to be his brother until Marvel happened to me) since mythology has always fascinated me, and the Norse pantheon was very new to me!
Then a some time after that, Thor (movie) came out. I was disdained because it the actor wasn’t Triple H haha! (Was a wrestling fan back in gradeschool LOL) because of the sledgehammer? Plus, it would fit him well, physically. Then after I watched the movie, BAM! RIGHT IN THE NORSE FEELS. I began researching as well on the Norse mythology in the Marvel universe. Of course it was really different, starting with Loki as Thor’s brother and not as Odin’s blood brother (weird to keep track of sometimes haha) so I researched even more, on the different reals and stuff.
AND THEN AVENGERS CAME OUT THEN BOOM DEAD ALL OF THE GODDAMN FEELS FOR THOR AND LOKI AND THORKI SOMETIMES WOW I WOULD DROWN IN TEARS JUST THINKING OF ALL THE FANART AND FICS I’VE SEEN
Anywaym I’ve been waiting for so long for FFXIII-2 to come out, and when it did, our PS3 was broken :( It was only recently we were able to buy a new one and I bought the game with it! And seeing Lightning again, it felt just like home. Like a best friend you haven’t seen for ages haha! Then when I saw her skill list, and her attack names.. AND SEEING ODIN AS A HORSE JUST REALLY CRACKS ME UP HAHAHAHA!.. They’re all Norse references just omg I’ve come all this way to loving so many things at once that they really cross paths in the weirdest ways XD plus the fact that she was in VALHALLA FIGHTING AN ETERNAL FIGHT COZ HOT DAYUM WOMAN YOU’RE A HERO YOU DESERVE TO BE THERE ..Norse mythology-wise, at least XD
Idk playing FF games just makes me extra sappy, I guess. Coz I feel that’s where I really started, especially with the fanart and fanart-sharing online haha! Good ol’ days~
